Nite White Whitening
Teeth whitening is by far the most popular cosmetic dentistry treatment. One option for whitening your teeth is a product called Nite White® from Discus Dental®. Nite White offers a long line of gentle, effective teeth whitening products for use at home.
As with any professional teeth whitening product, Dr. O'Leary will first ensure that your teeth are healthy and free of cavities before you begin to use Nite White. Dr. O'Leary will make a custom fit appliance for you to wear while you sleep in tandem the with Nite White product.
How Will It Whiten?
Nite White's active ingredient is carbamide peroxide; this ingredient breaks down into hydrogen peroxide. This allows oxygen to enter the enamel and dentin (hard tissue of the tooth) to loosen tooth stains. The other active ingredient is ACP. Amorphous Calcium Phosphate (ACP) is a proven technology that "rebuilds enamel and aides in the prevention of dental caries."
Nite White is available in several formulas. Many people who use teeth whitening will complain about some temporary tooth sensitivity. Answering this need, Nite White is available in three different strengths.
Nite White is a great option for people with all different types of sensitivity, tooth staining and even taste preference. It can be an amazing tool to capture that dazzling smile you desire.
Cosmetic Dental Bonding
Cosmetic dental bonding is a versatile and affordable way to improve the appearance of chipped teeth, stained teeth and gapped teeth. As one of the most conservative cosmetic dentistry treatments around, cosmetic dental bonding requires little to no prepping and preserves most of the natural tooth structure. And it's fast, too! Dental bonding usually takes just one visit to complete.
During a dental bonding procedure, Dr. O'Leary applies a tooth-colored resin to your tooth and then uses a special light to harden or "bond" the material to the tooth. It may seem simple, but the ability to bond restorative materials to enamel has, in fact, revolutionized our ability to prevent and prepare cavities, as well as improve the overall appearance of your smile.
The dental bonding process is a simple procedure that takes a dentist about 30-60 minutes per tooth to complete. The process is usually painless and is often performed without local anesthesia or sedation dentistry, unless the bonding is being used for a tooth filling.
